Assessment 1A
Assessment 1A or “Baseline Assessment” is the first general assessment of Lifelines.
Assessment 1A was performed between 2007 and 2013, with the majority of participants being assessed between 2010 and 2013.
Assessment 1A was followed by follow-up questionnaires 1B (after, on average, 17 months) and 1C (after, on average, 30 months), and by second assessment 2A (after, on average, 46 months).
For adult and elderly participants, assessment 1A consisted of the following elements:
- 1A Visit 1 (physical measurements, MINI, MMSE on location)
- 1A Visit 2 (blood and urine samples on location)
- children followed an age-dependent program

A subset of adult participants received a so-called Proxy interview instead of the questionnaires.
Children received an age-dependent set of questionnaires during assessment 1A.
Participants' exposure to noise and air pollution at baseline were determined via linkage with environmental resources based on postal code 6 of their home address at the time.
