Lifelines collects questionnaire data, measurements, and biological samples from the entire cohort in rounds or waves called general assessments. The following general assessments have been completed:

• 1A Baseline assessment with questionnaires, measurements, and biosamples (2007-2013)
• 1B Follow-up questionnaire (2011-2014)
• 1C Follow-up questionnaire (2012-2015)
• 2A Second assessment with questionnaires, measurements, and biosamples (2014-2017)

The following general assessments will be completed in the foreseeable future:

• 2B Follow-up questionnaire (2016-2019)
• 3A Third assessment with questionnaires, measurements, and biosamples (2019-2023)

Other information about our participants is provided by the Dutch citizen registration:

• Postal codes, used to link environmental information to personal health
  
• Family links, in which familial links among participants are registered
