This page provides an overview of additional blood analyses performed at the request of external research groups. These analyses use blood samples collected during the general Lifelines assessment rounds and subsequently stored in the Lifelines biobank for future analyses. They are complementary to the standard blood analyses performed as part of the regular assessment program.
In addition to blood analyses, results from standard urine analyses and urine analyses by external researchers are also available.
The analyses are often performed by external laboratories, using samples from participants selected by the research group according to project-specific criteria. As a result, participant selection, sample type, laboratory methods and assessment rounds may differ between projects and from the standard blood analyses. Results should be interpreted in the context of the selection criteria and methods described for each project.
The table below provides you with the most relevant points for each project. Details of the available variables are provided separately on this page.
It is important to note that the assessment rounds indicate when the blood samples were collected, rather than when the laboratory analyses were performed. While FDI refers to form description of instrument or method.
