Big Data (BIGQ)
Big Data is the name of an additional questionnaire performed in collaboration with the department of epidemiology at the UMC Groningen, aimed to acquire insights into the differences between participants and refusers of participation in a Dutch population-based biobank (i.e., Lifelines).
When the BIGQ data has been used in your research, you will have to include the following references:
Motives for withdrawal of participation in biobanking and participants’ willingness to allow linkages of their data Broekstra, R. , Aris-Meijer, J. , Maeckelberghe, E. L. M. , Stolk, R. & Otten, S. , mrt-2022 , In: European Journal of Human Genetics. 30 , 367–377
Demographic and prosocial intrapersonal characteristics of biobank participants and refusers: the findings of a survey in the Netherlands Broekstra, R. , Aris-Meijer, J. , Maeckelberghe, E. , Stolk, R. & Otten, S. , jan-2021 , In: EJHG. 1 , 11-19
Protocol & response

~2,200 participants responded (31,4%).
