Blood sample storage

Lifelines blood samples collected at 1A Visit 2 and 2A visit 2 are stored at the LifestoreLifelines location in Eemspoort, Groningen, the Netherlands.

Blood samples are first stored in Sanyo Ultra-Low Temperature Freezer at −80 °C until transport to Hamilton BIOS.
Sanyo Ultra-Low Temperature Freezers are ideally suited for ultra low storage solutions for biosafety, security, access ability and performance, long-term preservation of biologics. Sanyo represents the industry’s most innovative combination of cabinet design, electronics, refrigeration and critical components for enhanced security, better performance. Its preservation systems employ advanced technology to insure a high precision temperature environment.

BiOS; stores samples at -80°C and keeps samples close to -80°C throughout their entire life inside the system—while introducing and sorting samples, managing the inventory, and processing and delivering orders. In addition, BiOS records a full audit trail and temperature log for all samples managed in the system.

Its modular and scalable design allows storage over 5 million samples. It seamlessly interfaces with IT infrastructure and LIMS by providing the BiOS API and remote monitoring options.
