====== Mortality ======

As of May 2020, ~3000 [[cohort|Lifelines]] participants have died.\\
Lifelines continuously receives updates about the death of participants via the [[https://www.government.nl/topics/personal-data/personal-records-database-brp|BRP]], and these data may be released for scientific purposes.\\
We do not know the [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cause_of_death|cause of death]] of participants, but researchers may obtain this information via data linkage with [[https://www.cbs.nl/en-gb/our-services/methods/surveys/korte-onderzoeksbeschrijvingen/causes-of-death-statistics|Statistics Netherlands]].
